Highest Heart Failure Survival in the Nation

Whether you are in the early or most advanced stages of heart failure, the integrated team at the Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute is committed to providing highly personalized care that incorporates the latest advances in treatment and clinical research. It is through this personalized care that the Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute has achieved the highest heart failure survival in the nation, according to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

Have you or a family member been diagnosed with heart failure?

Many people mistakenly believe that heart failure means that the heart has stopped or is about to stop. Heart failure (or congestive heart failure) simply means that the heart is not pumping blood through the body as well as it should.

Symptoms of heart failure can sometimes be hard to identify. They can include difficulty breathing, fatigue and—in more severe cases—congestion in the lungs and swelling of the legs and feet. This is why heart failure is sometimes called congestive heart failure.

Using an integrated and collaborative approach, heart failure is diagnosed, staged and treated at the Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute with a wide array of comprehensive therapies and treatments ranging from carefully chosen medications, to ventricular assist devices and complex heart surgery, including heart transplantation.
